why 2000 hours is enough for the??acquisition of english？
为什么是2000小时就能习得英语
first of all, we need to point out that 2000 hours is just a common belief widespread in the english learning world. we may attribute this saying to ?
首先我们要指出，2000小时习得英语只是英语学习界普遍的说法，我们可以来看看同样持这一观点的英语教育集团新航道的副总裁王渊源的说法：

how did the saying of on the other hand, the survey statistics of the foreign service institute in the united states, which trains american diplomats, finds that it takes 1320 hours for the american diplomat to learn chinese well. generally, it should take almost the same time for a chinese person to learn english. but 1320 hours is just the time spent with a teacher, so, of course, there must be additional time for self-study. generally speaking, it should take about 2000 hours to learn english well. this may not be entirely scientific, but it should be efficient.
“这“2000个小时”的说法是怎么来的呢?一方面是根据我自己的经验和对学生的观察，另一方面也是参考美国的foreign service institute的调查统计。它负责培训美国的外交官，发现一般的美国人需要1320个小时的教学才能学好中文(学西班牙语只需要480个小时)。一个中国人学英语应该需要差不多的是时间，但1320个小时是教学的时间，肯定还需要自学的时间，总体来讲应该需要大概2000个小时才能学好。这个说法也许不完全科学，但应该很实用。”

in my own experience, and i believe that every chinese student, especially those who graduated from college, has spent more than 2000 hours learning english, but why can we not find the feeling of acquisition?
在我看来，我相信大部分的中国学生，特别是应经大学毕业的学生，早就认为自己学习英语超过2000小时了，但为什么我们没有习得英语的感觉？

on the one hand, it is because we do not have a concept of what is we always think that my english should be as fluent as our native language, chinese, which will bring you to an endless level of doubting your english. on the other hand, we do not know the real english learning time, which means that maybe you have been learning for more than ten years, but the actual english learning time is no more than 1000 hours.
一方面是我们对“学好英语”的概念还不清晰，认为学好英语就得学到跟我们的中文一样，这样的学好英语就变成了无法定量的事情了。另外，我们还不清楚什么才是真正的学习英语的时间，可能你学了10年，但真正学习英语的时间还不到1000小时。

what is the real?english learning time？
什么才是真正的英语学习时间
before getting to know what our real english learning time is, we should understand how we use our time daily. firstly we have to record what we have done every day. it is better to document things we have done every hour or even every half an hour. the form is as follows.
在了解真正的学英语的时间之前，我们首先要知道我们的时间是如何使用的。还未接触过时间管理的同学，应该先记录自己每天做了什么，必须细化到每个小时，甚至是每半小时自己做了什么。记录的形式如下：

only when we record things we have done every hour shall we know where time put in. after filing for a while you will soon find out that you have not done so much in a day. it seems you are busy every day, but without producing anything.
每天记录完，我们要不断总结，时间都用在哪些方面了。很快你就会发现，原来一天做的有效的事情并不多，每天似乎总是很忙，但没有产出什么。

for example; many students may go to the library for a whole afternoon. still, if you record what you have done during that time, you will find you spent 5 hours in an entire afternoon, but just have done 1 or 2 sets of english exercises and used other time to read books, play on your cell phone or take a nap. so in this situation, your real english learning time may just be 1 hour doing the exercises.
以学英语为例，很多同学去图书馆一个下午，如果认真记录你的真正学习时间，你会发现，一个下午5小时，似乎只是做了1，2套题，其他时间都在看别的书，或者刷手机或者打瞌睡，真正有效的英语学习时间，可能只是做题的1小时。

gradually you will find that your real english learning time is not as much as you think. maybe no more than 1 hour a day. so if it is no more than 1 hour a day, this is why we study for many years but are still not so good in english.?now we list all the forms of learning english. all these activities belong to english learning.?different learning activities have different efficiency in english learning. from my experience, they are sorted like this.
渐渐地你会发现自己学英语的时间其实没有那么多，平均下来做不了一天1小时，1天都不到一小时，这就是为什么学了6年，10年都无法掌握的原因之一。现在我们再把英语学习的形式都列出来，以下任务都属于英语学习的时间。?但是，不同形式的效果是不一样的，按照我的经验，各种学英语的形式，他们的效果排序如下：

we can see that, the more difficult or hard the activities are for us, the more active our learning. in contrast, the easier the events, the less effective they are for our knowledge
it seems to contradict the i+1 principle. we have always said that we should choose the materials that are suitable for us, shouldnt we? so what should i do that is effective, but i do not want to do exercises??
这似乎跟我们前面提出的i+1的原则有所冲突，我们不是强调要循序渐进，看自己感兴趣的项目来学吗？我不想做题，我又想快速掌握英语，怎么办？英语学习中，越是困难，越是不感兴趣的学习项目，学习效果就越好。越是感兴趣，越是容易的学习项目，学习效果就不好。

how to manage our?english learning time？
?如何管理英语学习时间

to do more productive english learning activities, we should know when our good condition comes in. there is a limit to a person’s energy. from my experience, the time i can concentrate on my learning is just 4 hours. although i may work for 10 hours a day, 4 hours is concentration, 3 hours is a delay, 3 hours is doing nothing.?
要尽量多做更高效的英语学习，我们首先要知道自己的身体状态。人一天的精力是有限的，以我经验为例，一天算下来，最多能够专注学习4小时。虽然看上去我一天10小时都在工作，但其实只有4小时是专注的，3小时是在拖延的，3小时是走神的.

so if i want to make a breakthrough in english, i have to save the best 4 hours for the most effective english learning activities, such as preparing the ielts test. and the other time i can do things more interesting, such as watching a dubbed and subbed anime.
所以，我想突破英语，务必把最高效的4小时，留给最难的英语学习任务，譬如备考雅思。其余6小时，做自己想做的相对轻松的英语学习。譬如看英配动漫之类。

different people have different situations for the peak state. for me, the best is the time when i wake up, the time after having a bath, and the time when i am hungry. so i would treasure this time for me to do the most difficult things in learning english and push other things aside.
最高效的4小时，每个人生理情况都不同，对我而言，一般是刚睡醒，刚洗完澡和解饿时。所以我的这些时间，全部都会留给英语学习，其他事情都得让路。

but the reality is cruel. as a worker, we will leave our best state for our livelihood. as a student, we have to learn other subjects in class. we are so tired after using up the best time.
不过，现实是残酷的，工作后我们一般会把最好的状态留给了工作，读书时我们也要兼顾其他学科的学习。剩下的时间，其实我们真的很累了，提不起精神。

no worries! when we are tired, watch some funny english materials. its better than doing nothing, isn’t it? we propose such a learning strategy just to let us know about some important concepts like what is the most effective method for english learning, what is the most active state in education. if we can not always be effective, we can still do relatively inefficient things. by recording the real english learning time we accumulate 2000 hours, we will finally learn english well.
没关系，提不起精神时，就做些轻松愉快的英语学习吧，总比什么都不做要好不是吗？我们提出这样的学习策略，就是想让自己知道这几个重要的概念：什么是高效的英语学习任务，什么是高效的学习状态。如果做不了，我们还可以做相对低效的。低效的英语学习，我们打一个折计入英语学习时间，通过时间记录，慢慢累积达到2000英语学习时间，我们就能在英语学习路上开挂。
